About the Publisher

Publisher Identity

East African Research Press (EARP) is an independent scholarly publishing organization established to support the structured dissemination of academic research through electronic journals. The publisher functions as a coordinating and administrative entity that provides publishing infrastructure and policy frameworks for scholarly journals.

EARP is based in Uganda and operates in accordance with national and international standards for scholarly publishing. The publisher maintains a clearly defined organizational identity separate from the editorial management of individual journals.

Purpose and Rationale

The establishment of EARP is driven by the need for reliable and transparent publishing platforms that support scholarly communication, particularly for research communities seeking structured and ethical dissemination channels.

The publisher aims to facilitate long-term availability and visibility of scholarly journals by providing stable administrative support, policy alignment, and publishing continuity.

Organizational Role

EARP functions as a publishing facilitator rather than a content controller. Its responsibilities include defining publisher-level policies, maintaining the publisher platform, and ensuring that journals operate within a clear governance framework.

Editorial responsibilities, peer-review management, and content-related decisions are not undertaken by the publisher and remain entirely under the authority of individual journal editorial boards.

Relationship with Journals

Each journal associated with EARP operates as an independent academic entity with its own editorial board, scope, policies, and website. Journals maintain autonomy over their editorial processes while aligning with publisher-level ethical and governance requirements.

The publisher does not host journal articles or archives on the publisher website. All journal content, including issues, articles, and indexing information, is maintained on the respective journal websites.

Geographical and Academic Context

Being based in Uganda, EARP supports the development of scholarly publishing within the national and regional academic ecosystem while engaging with the broader international research community.

The publisher encourages inclusive academic participation and supports journals that engage authors, reviewers, and editors from diverse institutional and geographical backgrounds.

Long-Term Commitment

EARP is committed to the sustainable operation of its publishing activities. This includes maintaining consistent publisher identity, preserving policy continuity, and supporting journals in meeting evolving scholarly communication standards.

The publisher recognizes the importance of long-term accessibility, administrative stability, and transparency as essential components of scholarly publishing.

Statement of Independence

EARP operates independently and does not represent any indexing service, metric provider, or evaluation body. The publisher does not engage in the assignment of impact indicators or ranking claims.

All representations regarding journal status, indexing, and archiving are made solely at the individual journal level.
